During this past semester of School I got to photograph some beautiful foods in a white on white photography assignment. It was a fun shoot that taught me a lot about food photography. Let me tell you, it isn't easy!! But I had a blast, and who doesn't love a classic white on white set? In order to get everything to stack correctly we had to use tooth picks and clay balls. We also had to keep the set cold so that the icing and marshmallows wouldn't get to heated and melt. Also, inorder to get separation between the white food and the white background, while keeping detail, we had to use quite a few 'go-bos'. My 'grips' (photography assistants) got a nice arm workout by the end of our shoot. I rewarded them with cupcakes, haha!
It isn't always fancy bells and whistles pulling off photoshoots, sometimes it is just hard work and having super helpful friends!
Thanks Juliet Mossman at 3 Maries Catering, for all the wonderful treats. If you're in the market for some fantastic food, check out her blog! I've had her food first hand, and it is scrumptious!
