Outdoor party prep!

July is here, and with that comes a plethora of outdoor parties to host and attend. I adore being outdoors, with a bonfire, eating all the delicious summer foods! Or sitting poolside as I watch our friends, family, and kiddos splash an play in the summer sun. But with all the outdoor fun comes plenty of party planning prep and forethought. So below I've listed my top FIVE tips to hosting an unforgettable outdoor party!

Make sure you've got all the 'skin' essentials and plenty of it for all your guests! In this part of Texas we've got some nasty mesquites. We also are very close to the burning Texas sun. So my two 'musts' are sun screen and bug spray! I also want to make sure that no summer colds are shared with our friends, so plenty of hand sanitizers and lotions are around while we enjoy our BBQ!

Take advantage of all the 'in season' fresh fruit and veggies! My summer outdoor party menus usually include fun salads, homemade dressings, fresh fruit based treats, and PLENTY of good Texas BBQ!

Make sure to either have enough seating, or ask all your guests to bring their camp chairs! If you want another fun alternative to lawn chairs, grab those cute quilts and spread them across the ground! Sometimes the best memories are made under shady trees, laying around on blankets spread out across the ground, with good conversations!

Make sure to have easy clean up, always bring EXTRA trash bags along to your outdoor party!

Don't worry about over decorating! The best part of having an outdoor party is letting the outdoors be your decorations!
